Who are we

We are a leading firm of Scottish Chartered Accountants and Insolvency Practitioners who still retain the traditional local presence and respect in the community on which the profession was based.

Historically we were part of a practice formed in Aberdeen by F A Ritson in 1909 but as the business developed, parts have evolved into separate business entities. The current principal Bill Young, who has controlled the Nairn office business since 1979 withdrew from the original practice to set up a fresh firm in 2007. There are other previously associated businesses that share the historic Ritson name but there is now no other connection.

Whilst providing the full range of client services including accounting, payroll and bookkeeping support through Sage qualified trainers, the Nairn office evolved into the more unusual practice areas, in particular taxation and insolvency.

Bill Young has a degree in Accountancy and Finance from Heriot Watt University and memberships of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and the Association of Business Recovery Professionals.  He is also regulated to act as an Insolvency Practitioner granted by ICAS.
